ICAP Book Forum and the Afterthoughts

So delighted to have had this engaging ICAP book forum session on Sep 19, 2025, for my book “Maya’s Paradox” with such a vibrant audience!
Our conversation on balancing ambition with integrity sparked thoughtful dialogue on what it truly takes to grow in our careers while staying true to our values.

Looking back at the ICAP Book Forum session on Maya’s Paradox, I feel deeply grateful and inspired. What began as a book discussion soon became a heartfelt exchange on values, choices, and the paradoxes we all face in our professional lives.

One participant said my reflections didn’t just highlight professional nuances — “they gave them a standing ovation.” Another emphasized how such forums open avenues for young people to explore both careers and writing. To me, these words capture the true purpose of writing: to start conversations that matter.

The Q&A was a highlight. When asked how I manage family, work, and writing, I shared my belief in work–life integration rather than balance. It was equally rewarding to hear that Maya’s Paradox is already being used in a university course on organizational behavior — proof that stories written in our own context can also enrich academia.

A thoughtful comparison was drawn with Howard Gardner’s Five Minds for the Future. While Gardner framed global competencies for success in the 21st century, my attempt has been to bring ethical questions closer to home, reflecting the challenges our younger generation faces today.

If there was one theme that tied the evening together, it was courage: the courage to act with integrity, to question, and to define one’s own path amidst the many shades of grey.

For this, I remain thankful to ICAP, to the audience, and to every reader who finds in Maya’s Paradox a mirror of their own journey.

The event has been extensively covered by leading media in Pakistan and also picked up by ME-based web news channels. I would like to sincerely thank all the platforms and journalists for receiving the topic and message with such warmth and resonance.
